Take a look at scholarships which best suit your ambitions. Set a financial goal. How much do you need, I mean really need, not want.

The first step is to identify as many scholarship possibilities as you can. Start by going to yellow pages.com (formally known as the phone book) look for Community, Civic Groups and Professional Organizations (such as Rotary, Lions, Shriners, Moose Clubs etc.) then search for Businesses, Corporations and Employers. Look for companies that are headquartered in your home state or town. And finally look for Charitable Foundations, any and all. An option many students fail to use is their high school guidance counselor; they really know a lot about scholarships and where to find them. Finally, contact you’re the school you are planning on attending. They have a great insight on scholarships that are specific to their school. Remember, they want you and they are always willing to help.

A quick tip, most scholarship applications ask for the same information. Once you have filled out one, you have basically filled them all out. Keep copies of your application to follow up and reference. Most importantly, don’t get discouraged; keep working towards your goal.
